Of course you can use the pack anyway you like. I just thought it might be useful to see and read how I envisioned it to be used and how I carry all the things I need for a day on the water.

 

 

 

 

 

The highest zipper gives access to the largest pocket. Here I store 2 large fly boxes. It is deep enough for 7” fly boxes.

 

 

 

 

 

In front of the large pocket are two slots behind the camo access strip. On the left of forceps or mitten clamps and on the right for a hook file.

 

 

 

 

 

The next pocket in front of the camo strip is used for a 5” fly box. I actually have two slim boxes attached to each other back to back with velcro. There is additional space for a small head lamp a pocket knife and a first aid kit.

 

 

 

 

 

In the very front I have two zipper pockets. The left is used for tippet spools. I don’t like the spools dangling around and my fly line to wrap around them. The right side is for indicators, split shot and other small items. The materials is stiff enough to open and close the zippers with one hand. Between the pockets is a strip of hook&loop loops. There I attach a floatant container using a kafly.net holder. It may look a little tight but even the large container of liquid High N Dry will fit there without disturbing the pockets noticeably.

 

 

 

 

 

On the very left and right I have slots equipped with a zinger. Currently I have nippers on the left and a thermometer on the right. The slots are long enough so the nippers are almost completely inside and don’t interfere with the fly line. There are also two small fabric loop in case someone wishes to strap the pack also at the waist.

 

 

 

 

 

On the top of the pack there are two sets of D-rings. One on each side is used to mount the pack to the waders. The other set I use the attach a floant tube and my amadou patch. I have the hanging on the body side of the pack so they are out of the way but easy to get to when needed. In addition there is one more pocket on the back. I use it for waste leader and tippet material.

 

 

 

 

 

The G5 pack is very similar to the G7 but it does not have the zinger slots and it is missing the forceps & file slots. Instead it has storage for forceps and file on the back side.

 

 

 

 

The kafly.net Chest Pack offers easy access to all the gadgets one typically needs quickly or often when standing in the middle of the river.

Chest Pack G7
This is the latest configuration. It is or will be available in Khaki and Foliage Green with the option to have the Center Accent either in orange or in camo (multicam).

  • Velcro between the front pockets to hold a bottle of drying power (Easy Dry or Dry Shake fit well)
  • Fly Box Pocket 4.5" x 8.5" x 1.5"

  • Behind the fly box pocket are 2 slots for Forceps or Mitten clamp (max 5.5" length) and a hock file

  • Pocket with Velcro closure in the rear

Chest Pack G6
This pack is still available in Foliage Green with the Center Accent in orange. New manufacturing runs will be G7
